What is the most visited grocery chain in Missouri?

That is the question that placer.ai wanted to answer, and so it analyzed data to see which chain ranked best.

Coming in first place in the report was the local brand Schnucks. 28% of grocery store visits by people in Missouri were to a Schnucks store.

This shouldn't come as much surprise as Schnucks has its headquarters in St. Louis, and most of its 112 stores are located in Missouri. Edwin Schnuck was a meat wholesaler in St. Louis who started his own business in 1937, the business has now expanded to locations in five states. Last year Schnucks launched a separate chain of natural and organic stores called Eatwell Market.

14% of store visits in Missouri are to Hy-Vee, while 13% are to German discount grocer Aldi.

Given the rising food prices across the country, competition in the grocery industry is set to heat up as customers look for the best prices possible.
