Texas Monthly ran an Ultimate Texas Brand Bracket, and H-E-B came out number one.
March is the month for brackets, and so Texas Monthly decided to run an Ultimate Texas Brand Bracket to see which brand Texans loved the most.
64 Texan brands were entered into the competition, but only one could reign supreme. And in a result that won't surprise many, H-E-B was crowned the champion.
The bracket was divided into quarters. There were 16 restaurants featuring brands such as Whataburger, Dairy Queen, Chili's, and Dave and Busters. 16 stores were entered, including H-E-B, Whole Foods, Buc-ee's, and Texaco.
On the product side of the bracket, there was brands such as Dr. Pepper, Yeti, Kendra Scott, and Blue Bell. While the final quarter of the draw, the Wildcards included Magnolia, Southwest, SpaceX, and Six Flags.
After some intense competition, the Final Four featured H-E-B against Whataburger and Blue Bell facing off against Southwest. This led to a final between Blue Bell and H-E-B, with the Texan grocer winning out.
And H-E-B was duly proud of their win.
Southwest lost its semi-final but was happy to have made it that far.
While the bracket was a bit of fun, many people took to social media to debate some of the contests.
