VIA Metropolitan Transit is holding a job fair in San Antonio tomorrow with a range of jobs on offer for successful applicants.
Some of the roles include bonuses of up to $6000. Additionally, they are offering referral bonuses of $1000.
VIA is looking to hire bus operators, paratransit van operators, mechanics, shop attendants, and transit security officers.
According to the VIA website, the pay rates and bonuses include the following:
- Mechanics. Starting rate of $23.07 an hour, along with an annual tool allowance, night shift premium monetary incentive of up to $6,000
- Bus Operator. Starting rate of $20.96 per hour, plus differential pay after 4:00 pm. There is also a hiring bonus of up to $4,000. No experience is required for this role, and paid training is offered.
Other benefits include family medical coverage, life, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, and onsite fitness centers and wellness programs.
In addition to the benefits listed, "full-time employees also are eligible for participation in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program."
