NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks headlined a fundraiser that raised over $1.3 Million in support of early childhood education in North Texas.
Dirk Nowitzki is an NBA legend and perhaps the best basketballer ever to represent the Dallas Mavericks.
Since his retirement in 2019, Nowitzki has supported organizations that benefit the Dallas community. Last night he headlined a fundraiser at the Ritz Carlton Dallas held by Educational First Steps (EFS) to help childcare providers across North Texas.
The popularity of Nowitzki was evident in the event being sold out and led to over $1.3 million being raised.
"Dirk really brought his soul to the conversation and the interview was a reflection of his and Jessica's care for children and the North Texas community as a whole. We were honored to have hosted him and we are forever grateful to each and every individual who stepped up to invest in the lives of children and their early education experience." Educational First Steps President & CEO, Vickie Allen-Brown
About Educational First Steps
Based in North Texas, Educational First Steps "is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create and support high-quality early learning environments that ignite the minds of children from birth to age five. EFS delivers professional development, training, classroom resources, and business support to educators to help existing childcare centers achieve and maintain national accreditation."
Last year it was ranked #9 among the Best Companies to Work for in Texas, a survey and awards program recognizing the top workplace cultures.
Are you glad to see Nowitzki still actively helping non-profit organizations in Dallas? What other organizations in Dallas would you like to see him support?
