Great news for burger lovers in Atlanta today with the opening of a second location of the popular burger chain Whataburger in the Atlanta area.

The beloved Texan burger chain opened its first restaurant in 1950 and now has almost 900 restaurants and 50,000 employees across 14 states, as well as thousands of total fans.

Whataburger made its metro Atlanta debut in Kennesaw last November to long lines as people drove from across Atlanta to grab a burger.

Today it opened a second location along Highway 92 in Woodstock in Cherokee County. It is located near Indian Valley Drive next to Chick-fil-A- and again, there were big crowds.

To combat the lines, only drive-thru service will be initially available due to the overwhelming popularity.

There are plans for six more Whataburger locations to open in Georgia. They are:

  • 503 Lakeland Plaza, Cumming, Ga. 30040
  • SEQ Buford Dr and Exchange Dr, Buford, Ga. 30519
  • 3321 Lexington Rd, Athens, Ga. 30605
  • 3201 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, Ga. 30606
  • 100 Pottery Rd, Commerce, Ga. 30529
  • 15 Wallace Blvd, Dawsonville, Ga. 30534

If you want to be an "insider," you can also order from the secret menu at Whataburger. Asking a staff member nicely may open up one of these five secret menu items at Whataburger.
