The 2022 World Cup in Qatar has kicked off today and will run for the next month.
Team USA has been placed into Group B against England, Wales, and Iran. It is a tough group, but the United States is favored to qualify. So if you plan on getting into the World Cup fever over the next month, here are five venues in San Antonio to watch the games live.
1. Chicken N Pickle
Address: 5215 UTSA Boulevard, San Antonio
The Chicken N Pickle is a new indoor/outdoor entertainment complex that includes a restaurant and sports bar that boasts pickleball courts and a variety of yard games. They will be holding watch parties for the USA games. For the opening match against Wales on the 21st, children under 14 wearing soccer jerseys receive free quesadillas with fries.
2. Smoke BBQ + SKYBAR
Address: 501 E Crockett St, San Antonio
The Crocketteers, American Outlaws San Antonio, and Smoke BBQ + SKYBAR are combining to "provide the BIGGEST Official U.S. Soccer watch parties in San Antonio."
Registration for the event is required.
3. Costa Pacifica
Address: 434 North Loop, 1604 West
Costa Pacifica is a modern Mexican restaurant offering seafood and will be showing most of the World Cup matches. In addition, the venue provides all-day Happy Hour, 5 Tecate Lite Beers for $10, and discounted appetizers.
4. The Growler Exchange
Address: 4130 Broadway St #2, San Antonio
The Growler Exchange has a great variety of beers from across the country and will be opening at 10 am so patrons can grab a craft beer and enjoy the soccer.
5. Maddy McMurphy's Irish Sports Bar
Address: 420 E. Houston St, San Antonio
This could be a great venue to watch the USA take on England- the Irish will be sure to support Team USA in this game!
