Pasadena, MD - Firefighters from Anne Arundel County responded to a possible garage fire, reported in the 100 block of Woods Way, in Chelsea Beach, MD.
The early afternoon blaze happened around 1 P.M., Tuesday, December 7, 2021, when calls to 911 reported heavy smoke and fire coming from a large unattached garage. Fire crews were dispatched sending one full alarm. Rescue units arrived reporting heavy smoke showing from all sides of the 30x50 garage structure. A working fire was declared, this sends over 20 fire units in total, needed to extinguish the fire.
Neighbors report the owner was not in the area at the time of the fire. Several reportedly, tried calling the owner, letting the person know about the fire. A sign in front of the garage displayed "Auto Detailing" as the type of work performed.
Fire officials say the fire remains under investigation. Due to the large diameter fire hose in the street, Anne Arundel County Police responded for traffic control. No damage was reported in the nearby house, located in the rear of the garage.
It took firefighters 15 minutes to bring the fire under control. No injuries were reported. The business garage appeared to be a total loss. No dollar amount was immediately available.
