Pike Farmers Market has locally-grown fresh fruits, vegetables, house plants, eggs, honey, baked goods, soaps, wood carvings, even homemade dog treats, and more!

The market opened this year at 5429 Lafayette Road, in the parking lot of the Common Ground church.

The market is owned and operated by Marilyn Shulte and Scott Rice, who are also the owners, stewards, and growers of KayLeo Urban Farm.

The freshly-grown produce is harvested weekly from Scott and Marilyn's farm and brought to the market.

Upon my visit to the market last Saturday, there were surprisingly more vendors than advertised.

Vendors included wood carvers, soap makers, pastry bakers, coffee roasters, beekeepers, a nutritionist to coach visitors on how to prepare healthy foods they purchase from the market, and even a fitness trainer to help burn the calories from produce, meats, coffee, and treats purchased at the market.

IU Health and Riley Hospital for Children were also on hand.

Items also available from Pike Farmers Market include:

  • Fresh Honey
  • Handcarved wooden utensils and bowls
  • Wooden plaques, and charcuterie boards
  • Fresh cuts of pork and beef
  • Homemade doggie treats
  • Books
  • Carved soaps
  • Chicken and duck eggs
  • Freshly roasted coffee beans
  • Miniature Bonsai trees
  • Freshly-grown spices
  • House plants
  • Brownies, sweets, and treats

Pike Farmers Market will be open every Saturday thru September 10, 2022, from 9 a.m. to Noon.

The market is located in the parking lot of the Common Ground Christian Church West at 5429 Lafayette Road, 46254.

Cash, EBT, credit, and debit cards are accepted.
