10 Vacation Bible Schools in the Alexandria area still open for registration

April Stephens

The words "Vacation Bible School" take me right back to a little cup of Kool-aid with generic Oreos, spending the morning making crafts and singing church songs. And it is that time of year again. It is time to pass these memories on to our children.

Northern Virginians are known for planning ahead, so summer programs here fill up fast. As I was on the hunt for local church VBS programs to share, I found many had already filled up. However, these ten below are still open.

I have sent my kids to a few of these programs in years past and some of them I haven't, but I have yet to see a VBS that was not good for them.

Kids these days need to hear about a Creator who cares about them more than ever. A Vacation Bible School is a fun way to teach your kids about God and Jesus and feed their souls. It also can reinforce ideas of love and doing what is right.

Vacation Bible School is such a rich, rewarding experience for kids.

I have this one song that I still enjoy singing to myself from my last VBS in about 7th grade. You never know what will leave an impression on a child.

Hopefully at least one of those in the list will have a location with dates that will work for your family this summer.
