Illegal 'Sideshow' Stunt by Motorcyclists Brings Traffic to a Halt on SF-Oakland Bay Bridge

Nearly 100 motorcyclists caused chaos on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge last Saturday by participating in an illegal stunt known as a "sideshow." The event occurred on I-80 westbound at Center Anchorage and brought traffic to a complete stop for a few minutes.

The motorcyclists lined up in front of the cars and began performing stunts on their bikes, forcing drivers to come to a standstill. Witnesses reported seeing the motorcyclists driving in circles on the back wheel of their bikes, popping wheelies, and doing "donuts."

The disruption lasted around two minutes and was captured on video by drivers who got out of their vehicles to see what was happening. In the video, drivers can be heard honking their horns as the group continues to cause havoc.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed that approximately 100 motorcyclists were involved in the illegal "sideshow." The disruption occurred around 5:07 p.m. and was over before the Highway Patrol could respond to the scene.

The officer explained that similar events have occurred in the past, although it's not common. He noted that it happens "every once in a while." No arrests were made in this incident, as the motorcyclists fled the scene before the CHP officers arrived.

Conclusion:

While illegal "sideshow" stunts by motorcyclists are not frequent, they can cause major disruptions and pose a significant risk to public safety. Law enforcement needs to take swift action against such activities to ensure the safety of drivers and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
