A hip-hop museum is getting built in the Bronx, and it will feature merchandise and pictures from the iconic culture of hip-hop music. So many unique features make this museum a must-see in the future.

Rocky Bucano and a collection of legendary businesspeople and artists, including Kurtis Blow, Ice T, LL Cool J, Nas, and many others, launched the Universal Hip Hop Museum. In the Bronx, they collaborated to establish the first Hip Hop museum in history.

Items from the short-lived MTV sketch show "Doggy Fizzle Televizzle" and a massive oil painting of Kanye West, among others, will be on display at the $80 million Universal Hip Hop Museum. Additionally, it will broadcast online-viewable live musical concerts, breakdancing sessions, and fashion presentations.

The two-story, 53,000 square-foot museum will be a part of Bronx Point, an evolving mixed-use development that views Mill Pond Park and the Harlem River, located at 65 E. 149th Street in Melrose.

Eventually, the museum, which is currently simply a hollow concrete shell, will have a 250-seat theater and feature exhibits on the five components of hip hop: DJing, emceeing, breakdancing, graffiti, and knowledge.

The museum is also planning a Metaverse exhibition and live performances. Rocky Bucano spoke on their desire to bring the museum to life in the Metaverse.

"You can have Naughty by Nature performing live in the metaverse," Bucano said, "and they won't be the traditional avatars, and it will be the actual group."

The museum will not be ready to open until 2024, but you can still support the project by making donations. You can visit the official website here.
