Dave East has consistently dropped great music for the past two years. The "Hoffa" album is a hip-hop classic, and he isn't slowing down anytime soon. His latest project, "How did I get here," is dropping on March 11, 2022. There is also another hip-hop heavyweight dropping new music on the same day. Benny The Butcher will be releasing his long-awaited "Tana Talk 4" album. Both rappers have worked with each other on songs like Uncle Ric and Stone Killer.
Dave East's "How did I get Here" album is entirely produced by Mike & Keys. The album will also feature Dave East's new artist Steven Young. Steven Young has collaborated with Dave East on songs like Dolla and a Dream, Grey Poupon, and 21 More Questions. Steven gets compared to singers like Stevie Wonder, Chris Brown, and R. Kelly, but you can see he has a sound all his own when you listen. Other artists featured on the album include Anthony Hamilton, Trae Tha Truth, and Method Man.
Benny The Butcher signed with Defjam records in 2021, so this will be the first project with his new label. Tana Talk 4 will feature the single "Johnny P's Caddy," featuring superstar rapper J. Cole. The song is significant to Benny because it reflects the car his father owned when he was young, and his father used to drive him and Griselda rapper Westside Gunn in the vehicle. Benny also reflected on working with J. Cole.
"Any rapper will tell you when you're working with someone like Cole, and it's like a match of wits; you gotta go crazy because you know he is. Iron sharpens iron," Benny commented. "You want it to be an environment where someone has the presence to push you, and it's dope!"
