(NEW YORK) On Friday, Word Up Community Bookstore will open its doors for "The Songs We Write: An Afternoon of Live Original Music" in Washington Heights.

The free live event — scheduled from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. — will serve as a goodbye to Courtney Hill, a musician, comedian and songwriter who is taking the stage one last time before leaving New York City.

The bookstore will also see performances from guests including Carl Fortunato, Alex De Suze, Eric Vetter and local artists such as Cristhopper.

Event organizers ask attendees to arrive 30 minutes before the event starts. All guests are required to show proof of vaccination and wear a face mask at all times, according to Word Up Community Safety guidelines.

Word Up Community Bookstore is located at 2113 Amsterdam Ave. To register for the event, click here.
