(NEW YORK) Greetings, fellow Washington Heights locals! On this rainy Thursday in New York City, how can we not think about weekend plans?
This weekend, the rain is scheduled to stop and temperatures will be in the high 50s on Saturday, with a high of 57° expected. Sunday will see a high of 52°, with partly cloudy conditions on both days, per ABC 7 NY.
As for plans, here's what's going on in the Heights this weekend:
Saturday, April 9
The Fort Tryon Park Trust is hosting a free egg hunt for all ages on Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The egg hunt will be preceded by a parade at 9:30 a.m. that will feature a bagpipe-led processional, according to the Trust. Bring your own instruments if you have them!
To join in on the fun, meet at the Margaret Corbin Plaza entrance to the Heather Garden.
Afterward, the egg hunt will take place at the adjacent Billings Lawn.
For more Saturday fun, there will also be an Endangered Species Program with APEC at the Fort Washington Subway Terrace/190th Street at 1 p.m., according to the event website. No registration is required.
For more Saturday spring fun, there will be a free festival at the Highbridge Recreation Center from noon to 3 p.m.
"Join us for a day of celebration," the event description reads. "Spring is here and we are bringing all our activities outside to enjoy Nature! We will have an obstacle course, jumbo games, arts and crafts, music and many more activities!"
