While the search for happiness can sometimes be elusive, there are those who believe that it can be found. Particularly in one unique city in America.
For the third year running, Fremont, California has claimed the title of Happiest City in America for 2023, according to a new report by WalletHub. According to the report, 83% of adults claim to feel stress over economic difficulties, so trying to identify places where they can be happier is a priority.
For the ranking system, the poll evaluated 182 different cities in three different categories:
1) Emotional & Physical Well-Being
2) Income & Employment
3) Community & Environment
Interestingly, the study contends that once you reach $75k in earnings, you won't receive a higher level of satisfaction making more money. To wit, they say while the United Sates is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, it only ranks 16th overall in the World Happiness Report.
For it's part, Fremont continued to maintain it's title by ranking first in the both the Emotional & Physical Well-Being and Community & Environment categories. This made it a runaway winner over San Jose, California which scored 2nd in Emotional & Physical Well-Being and 3rd in Income & Employment. Fremont does enjoy a wonderful climate, diversity, a range of opportunities in different industries as well as top-notch schools, medical facilities, and access to transportation options. It remains to be seen if it can make it a four-peat in 2024.
