(ELIZABETHTOWN, KY) — As the weather cools off, the Elizabethtown Parks & Recreation team announced that it is preparing to host an inaugural Fall Fest on October 23rd, from 10 A.M. - 4 P.M. at the Pritchard Community Center.

The festival is a free community event and is open to everyone. Candy, games, inflatables, crafts, food vendors, and a family-friendly mini haunted experience will be included. Costumes are encouraged as well as masking for COVID mitigation.

Prizes will be donated by local businesses for certain events.

A pumpkin decorating/carving contest is also planned. Instructions for contest pre-registration will be posted on the Elizabethtown Parks & Recreation website.

Parking is expected to be limited on the day of the event.

In a recent Facebook post, the Parks & Recreation team announced that registration is still open for the following types of vendors:

  • Food Vendors: $100 for the day - Food vendors will be set up outside in the community center parking lot. Electricity and water will be unavailable at the venue.
  • Craft/Art Vendors: $25 for the day - Registrants will have a 6x6 spot with a table and two chairs. To qualify as a craft/art vendor, registrants must sell handmade crafts/art and have at least one related to Fall or Halloween. If more than one table is needed, the registrant will have to pay for an additional craft/art vendor spot.
  • Local Businesses/Organizations: Free for the day. Registrants must have a Fall/Halloween-themed game for children that can be played indoors on a gym floor. Games involving liquid are prohibited. One 6x6 space, a table, and two chairs will be provided.
