The County of Santa Barbara has many of Californias favorite spots to offer. Endless coastline with stunning beaches and mountain ridges the region is an adventurers paradise. From hiking, swimming, surfing, and many other activities, you can do what is best for you.

Stand-up paddling is a sport that isn't that long on the market yet but has picked up incredible momentum. Today there's a hype around the sport wherever you go. All around the world sports fans stand on these surf board paddling on calm waters or rough oceans alike.

Santa Barbara is no different in this situation and in case you are coming down to visit the city but still want to be active and explore the waters on a paddleboard there is one specific beach that is famous by locals. Nor only for paddling but also for it.

In the laid-back village of Montecito, you'll find this dreamy Californian beach. The coastline is shining in pristine nature and is perfect for swimming, surfing or simply playing in the water. Due to its unique location, one can experience a stunning sunrise AND sunset on this beach.

Easily you can spend hours on your stand-up paddleboard paddling up and down the coastline. Rough and rocky shores can be seen as well as the endless beach alleys along the ocean. Palm trees as far as the eye can see. Who says you're not coming into holiday vibes over here? Nobody yet.

If you don't have your own SUP (short for stand-up paddleboard) or you have no idea how the sport works you'll have no trouble renting one on the beach or getting a lesson or two on the board. But the sport of paddleboarding is rather simple. As long as you can balance a bit you'll pick it up in no time.

The water in Montecito is very clear and with a bit of luck, you'll see yourself surrounded by bottlenose dolphins. What an amazing experience that would be!
