The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel in England reported an unusual theft. Someone had stolen $125,000 worth of koi fish from the hotel's pond.
Koi fish are very expensive and each fish may be priced as high as $2,500. There were 50 fish stolen from the hotel.
No one knew who the culprit was but the hotel had suffered a huge loss due to the costs involved.
The hotel decided to take matters into its own hands and installed security cameras by the pond.
When they eventually took a look at the footage, they were shocked to see that the culprit was no ordinary person. It was an otter.
The hotel director says about the discovery of the culprit,
“It was definitely a surprise to say the least to find that an otter was the culprit for our huge loss of fish,” “With the fences we have installed previously to protect smaller fish from herons, we didn’t expect any large animals to be able to access the pond areas. With around £100,000 worth of koi now lost, we are trying to find a solution to prevent any further loss.”
