In an article in The Mirror, a woman argues that the name her parents gave her has made her life miserable and she wants to change it.

Her parents named her after a luxury clothing brand so she could sound "expensive." Instead, because of her name, she became a target of bullying when she was a child and when she became older, no one would take her seriously.

The woman took to social media to explain her situation. She says,

"My sister named me and my mother and father were dumb enough to listen to her. My family likes my name and so do some people at school but I literally hate my name. I sometimes got picked on for my name as well."

The woman's name is "Armani." She is named after Giorgio Armani's Italian luxury fashion house.

She claims that she tried to talk to her parents and sisters about changing her name but they would have nothing to do with it.

Now, she doesn't bring up the subject with them because they could get upset.

Social media commenters sympathized with the woman and there were several comments about how she could go about changing her name without upsetting her family.

One person said,

"If you want to make things easier for family and friends - and you are in no way obliged to, you could pick a name that is similar or starts with the same letter as your current name.
"But it's also ok if you want to go with something completely different."

The overall consensus was that the woman should change her name if she felt so badly about it.
