In an article in The Daily Dot, a woman claims that she got approved for a $200,000 loan from Chase Bank even though she only had $750 left in her account.
In addition to getting a very large loan, the woman claimed that she was drunk when she asked Chase Bank for the $200,000 loan.
In a viral TikTok video, the woman posts the caption,
“When you get so drunk you asked Chase for a $200k loan,”
In the video, the woman also proceeds to show a screenshot with the balance on her account of $200,750.
TikTokers were amazed and shocked that the woman could get a very large loan so quickly when she only had $750 in her account.
“The fact that you had 750 in the bank and they still gave you 200k.”
Others commented that Chase Bank should never have given her the loan and that she would be better off if she paid back what she borrowed from Chase Bank.
“Take the check and pay the loan back immediately before any interest is charged.”
Despite all the warnings and advice given to the woman by viewers of the TikTok channel, there was one potential problem with the woman's story. It could not be confirmed.
The woman's video was actually posted by a finance app, @oops.
According to the Daily Dot, posts that tended to appear on the @oops account were often part of a marketing campaign involving made-up financial scenarios. Thus, it was very possible that the woman had made up her story for views.
However, the Daily Dot has now contacted both Chase Bank and @oops to confirm the woman's story.
