Where is Summer Wells?

Angelica Brooks

Summer Wells, a Rogersville, Tennessee, five-year-old girl has been missing since Tuesday, June 5, 2021. The young, 3ft tall, energetic young girl supposedly went missing from her home. Multiple agencies and organization have come into the area to help with attempting to search for her with no evidence or trace of where she could be.

Looking into this case there have been several red flags for law enforcement to take notice of and quite a bit of family history surrounding the family of Summer. Supposedly on the day that Summer went missing she had gone swimming in a swimming hole with a family friend named Hunter and her family. Hunter has since come forward and stated that, on that day in particular, he had been given alcohol by Summer’s mother, Candus. He stated that Summer had went under water for over a minute, but he was able to get her safely out of the water. He stated that he wanted to come forward because of the possibility of what he called a “second drowning” possibly happening to Summer.

Summer’s mother Candus stated that when the family returned home Summer had been planting flowers in the front yard with her and Candus’ mother. She stated that Summer then went in to wash her hands and got candy from her grandmother. When Summer’s mother Candus asked her brothers where she was, she said that she went to go play with her toys. When Candus called for her daughter and searched the home for her she was unable to find her and stated that the basement door was unlocked, and she believed that someone took her from the residence.

There has been documentation of domestic violence incidents occurring between Summer’s mother Candus and her father Donald. In the reports she stated fear for her life but later decided to not pursue charges. Donald, Summer’s father, is also a registered sex offender having had sex with someone younger than the age of 18. The community has come together in support of the family, however, there have been quite a bit of useless tips that have come in as well leading nowhere. Donald Dotson, a member of the church the family attends, states that he plays a song with his flute for Summer every night and Summer’s Sunday School Teacher, Robin Lane came forward stating that everyone just needs to show love to the family. When the first Crime Stoppers reward in the amount of $25,000.00 was mentioned Candus ran to law enforcement to tell them about a potential tip that she had received. Candus at that time had also initiated two Go Fund Me accounts to cover expenses however they have since been supposedly closed. There was also a prayer vigil on June 25th where the father spoke and asked for forgiveness of his sins after his daughter had gone missing. On July 11th on social media Donald posted that his daughter has to be tied up by someone, or in a creepy basement, and advised that the public should be checking each other’s home. Then on July 13th the father stated on social media that he would see his daughter at the resurrection. One of the things that was also noticed during the interviews was a lack of emotion or feelings observed. Something else also very eerie about the case is that Candus’ sister Rose Marie seems to have fallen off the face of the earth and has been missing as well since 2009.

At this time the brothers of Summer have been removed from the home by the Child Protective Services in Tennessee. Donald states that they were removed due to the constant threats that were coming to the family, however this has not been confirmed by the Child Protective Services. Equusearch, a search team out of Texas states that they are coming to the area to conduct a search for Summer in hopes of locating her. The Public Restroom Murderer

Sherrice Iverson and Jeremy StrohmeyerIverson and Strohmeyer Family. Sherrice Iverson (7) and her older brother Harold (14) went to Primm Valley Resort Casino with their father Leroy Iverson in Primm, Nevada. Their father did not have money for a room and so he decided to just spend a few hours in the casino. Leroy sent his children to go and occupy themselves on the balcony of the casino. He had seen it done in the past and assumed that it would be okay for him as a parent to do the same. Leroy then told Harold that he would be in charge of watching his sister Sherrice while he was away. Well, Harold didn’t keep a close eye on his sister and eventually, the siblings went their separate ways. Sherrice was running around unmonitored all throughout the casino. At about 4 am in the morning a teen by the name of Jeremy Strohmeyer (19) was seen following and playing with Sherrice. He was then seen following her into the bathroom. Inside the bathroom, Jeremy continued to play with Sherrice until he finally forced Sherrice into one of the bathroom stalls. He was seen at this point by his friend David Cash (17). Cash immediately came out of the bathroom and Jeremy was seen by Cash coming out of the bathroom 20 minutes later. Jeremy then informed his friend David that he had molested Sherrice and then strangled her to keep her quiet. Jeremy stated that as he was leaving, he noticed that Sherrice was still alive and twisted her neck making a “loud pop” to crack it, then laid her head on the toilet. He was caught 3 days later after he was identified from security footage of his attack. He was charged with abducting, sexually assaulting, and killing Sherrice. He was facing the death sentence. He ended up pleading guilty to first-degree abduction, and a sexual attack on a minor with harm. He was sentenced to life in jail without a choice of parole. Due to the fact that the family could not get Cash charged as well, because of his lack of reporting the incident, they created and got the Sherrice Iverson bill passed. This bill requires that a person with reasonable suspicion that a minor is being sexually attacked must report the crime to the police or face criminal action.

Young Women Found Deceased Behind Her Family Home in 1986 Still a Montgomery County Cold Case

Stacy Swain was a 1985 graduate at Robert E. Lee High School and after her graduation she began working at St. Margaret’s Hospital. On February 8,1986, Stacy Swain left her residence to go on a date. That Wednesday, February 12. 1986, in the afternoon, she was found by her family, deceased under a pile of leaves and debris, 20 yards behind her family’s home on Mallory Street. Law enforcement searched this area after she had initially gone missing and there was no trace of her body then. Stacy was last seen by her family on February 8, 1986. They also stated that they heard her enter the residence on February 8, 2021 but then went right back out and never returned. Stacy’s autopsy determined that she died from possibly more than two blows to the head. It was also noted that she was found partially dressed as well. At the time of the crime, law enforcement interviewed potential suspects however, after identifying a suspect there was not enough evidence to pursue charges. To this day there has not been enough evidence or information to push forward on this case. To be clear this case is still currently a cold case with Montgomery Police Department at this time. The District Attorney at the time offered the max reward for any information which was $10,000.00. If you have any information on this case contact Crime Stoppers at 334-215-7867 or you can also contact Montgomery Police Department Cold Case Unit.
