AKRON, OH - Bath Community Fund of Akron Community Foundation announced that they would accept grant proposal submissions starting Wednesday, September 1.

The fund will be granted to communities or organizations that develop programs that aim to benefit and improve the Bath community and residents’ quality of life. The result of accepted grant applications will be announced in early December.

The total amount of grants available this year is $34,000. The funds will be aimed at programs that maintain Bath’s historical and environmental facility, improve local arts and culture landscape, educational and recreational youth programs, and social service programs that help Bath residents in need.

In 2020, Bath Community Fund awarded 13 area nonprofit organizations with $29,020 each, making the total amount of grant more than $100,000. The grants are used for supporting the construction of an outdoor classroom and nature exploration station at the Bath Nature Preserve, provide emergency wellness services for Bath residents with cancer, and establish therapeutic horseback riding programs for children with special needs.

All 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations may apply for funds starting September 1 until October 1. A link to the application is available at www.akroncf.org/applyBCF.

The applications will be reviewed by a committee of BCF advisory board members, donors, and community leaders.
