CLEVELAND, OH — The Westlake Porter Public Library or WPPL has announced its strategic plan for the period 2021 to 2022. This is announced by Andrew Mangels, the Director of Westlake Porter Public Library, on its official website at https://www.westlakelibrary.org.

This plan is based on a community survey in January with over seven hundred responses. The WPPL Board of Trustees used the information to form three final goals projected for the next 12 to 18 months.

For the first strategic plane, WPPL will reinforce and expand its community partnerships and collaborations proven by constructing guidelines and Memorandums of Understanding consisting of at least five existing and new strategic partners by July 2022.

Prior to this period, WPPL has established a cooperation with various organizations with public and private schools, such as Connecting for Kids, Garden Club, Herb Guild, Kiwanis, Rotary, Historical Society, League of Women Voters and public organization, such as the City of Westlake. The recent partnership is with the Carolyn L. Farrell Foundation, which is an organization focused on seniors with dementia.

In the second strategic plane, WPPL is adding four new maker-related technologies with an expected ten monthly repeat customers in the maker space by the end of June 2022. These makers are tools that facilitate content creators.

This creation of "Maker Spaces" will allow people to learn about the latest technology like 3D printing. It is its commitment to always provide the latest technological innovation and make it useful to the public.

And for the last, WPPL will develop a space plan that aims at current and future use of the building including the design of the "Maker Spaces", updated collection space layouts, and sophisticated meeting, programming and reading spaces by December 2021. This plan is an enhancement for the 20 years old building that will provide more convenience for the public.

This strategic plan will foresee the future of the library, both the building and the facility, as far as possible. For more information related to the library, visit Westlake Porter Public Library's official website at https://www.westlakelibrary.org/.
