Five Cleveland Metroparks family activities to enjoy this week

CLEVELAND — The warm summer breeze is here, and it is such a shame to spend a beautiful summer day indoors. Cleveland Metroparks not only have zoos and parks that you can visit. They also have places for you to explore and learn while having fun.

The Metroparks are holding events throughout the summer. Here are our five picks of the many activities you can find from Cleveland Metroparks:

1. Wings On Wednesday

Are you a birder? Join Marty Calabrese and enjoy the fields and forests along the Charigin River while being on the lookout for birds.

Date and Time: June 9 at 9 a.m. at 10.30 a.m.

2. Thursdays In Nature

Go on a leisurely hike to discover what’s happening out in nature with Naturalist Jeff Riebe.

Date and Time: June 10 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.

3. Drop-In: Ask A Naturalist Hour (Or Two)

Are you curious about nature? Join this activity at the outside station in front of Brecksville Nature Center and ask any questions you have about nature and Naturalists Foster Brown will answer your questions. You can bring pictures, specimen,s or even stories to share and observe the mysteries of the natural world.

Date and Time: June 11 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

4. Heart Healthy Hike

Join Naturalists Natalie Schroder on a hike through Sagamore Creek Valley and enjoy the sound of water through the forest and cross the creek

Date and Time: June 12 from 10 a.m. to 12.30 a.m.

5. Meadow Majesty

Hike through West Creek Reservation’s majestic native meadows with Naturalists Peter and look for birds, butterflies, and critters throughout the trail.

Date and Time: June 13 from 1.30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
