The Washington state legislature passed the Working Families Tax Credit (WFTC) in 2012. Hundreds of thousands of eligible individuals will benefit from this yearly $1,200 payment. (source)
Mayor of Seattle Bruce Harrell believes residents of his city will benefit greatly from these payments. He made the following statement.
“Working families are at the heart of our vision for a vibrant One Seattle – and it’s our priority to improve affordability and take on rising costs of essential goods and services like groceries, childcare, and more." (source)
Guidelines such as income and children will determine your eligibility and the payment amount. Applicants must be between 25 and 65 years old or have one qualifying child. They must have earned at least $1 in 2022, lived in Washington for six months in 2022 and filed taxes that year. (source)
