Douglas County School System to organize final moving sale

ATLANTA, GA — Douglas County School System be hosting a moving sale on Saturday, June 19, to clear out the Central Office’s surplus furniture following its relocation.

The Central Office is now relocated to the former GreyStone Power building at 11490 Veterans Memorial Highway, under the same roof as other departments. The system made the relocation to integrate the departments better.

Items to be auctioned are suites of office furniture, electronics and technology, textbooks, school supply, and equipment—all in good condition. Available furniture includes chairs, desks, conference tables, cabinets, and bookshelves. As this is their final moving sale, everything must go.

Buyers can come and bid on all pieces in individual rooms at 9030 Hwy 5 in Douglasville and enter through the warehouse entrance at the left rear of the building. Sales will open at 10 a.m. and closes at 1 p.m.

The items are on sale individually by pallets. Each pallet will be loaded with objects in the same category. It will be numbered and assigned with an opening or minimum bid price. Organizers will call the pallet numbers, and buyers can start bidding.

To avoid confusion, each room in the former office will auction different item categories.

Buyers must have a vehicle available to transport the items. To help with loading, the DCSS Operation staff will place the items on the loading dock. Buyers must also finish picking up the items by 1 p.m. on the purchase date.
