The Pullman Yards has been hosting Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience since May 19, 2021. Here, Atlantans can step ‘inside’ the iconic paintings of Van Gogh, one of the greatest artists of the 19th century.

The installation will provide the visitors with an intimate view from inside Van Gogh’s life and his work through 360-degree digital projections, a VR experience, and an atmospheric light and sound show. Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is open for visitors from May 19, 2021, through November 15 at the Pullman Train Yard at 225 Rogers St.

After being shown in Naples, Italy, Brussels, Belgium, York, United Kingdom, the experience is now available for art-loving Atlantans looking to be completely immersed in Van Gogh’s works.

The 360-degree projections display some of Van Gogh’s most compelling pieces in a form never seen before, standing two stories tall, where you can see some of the most crucial details in his iconic artwork.

Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience will also feature a thoroughly unique virtual reality experience that takes you through a brief yet profound journey into “a day in the life of the artist”. Visitors can experience what it is like to walk in the artist’s shoes to discover the inspirations behind some of Gogh’s universally recognized paintings, such as Vincent’s Bedroom at Arles and Starry Night Over the Rhone River.

The experience will be open to people of all ages. Its content is suitable for a vast audience, including families, school groups, couples, and seniors. The installation is centered in a spacious area where the artist’s work is splayed from the floor to the ceiling, with separate galleries that chronicle his life, technique, and influence through educational panels and interactive displays.

The event is all digital, hands-free, and well suited for a post-pandemic outing.
