Meri Brown defends bankruptcy & new boyfriend in new video
Meri Brown took to Instagram Live to address several concerns from fans over her new boyfriend and financial issues.
After Brown announced she got a new love, her boyfriend Amos Andrews, In Touch Weekly revealed he'd "previously filed for bankruptcy and was married multiple times in the past."
According to Meri, neither of those "revelations" are concerning for her.
“Y’all bankruptcies are not quite a big deal,” Meri said on January 19 during her Friday With Friends series on Instagram. “Everybody has been through issues before, who the heck cares that you had a bankruptcy?”
In fact, Meri says she and Kody filed for bankruptcy nearly 25 years ago.
“You just build your way out of it. It doesn’t define who you are,” Meri said. “It doesn’t matter what happened to you in your past, who you are now is what matters and how you act on it.”
As for his previous marriages, Meri joked, “I sort of have three ex-sister wives and an ex-husband. I beat you.”
Meri announced the new relationship on Jan. 16 with a gushing post about love.
"He's not 6 foot 6, nor is he a pilot, but he loves Christmas almost as much as I do, and we laugh a lot together, both of which are important elements to a relationship," she wrote on Instagram.
Meri and Kody announced their split on Jan. 10, 2023, after more than two decades of marriage.
"After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship," she wrote.
Meri was the first wife of Kody and the last of the three wives to leave. He currently remains married to Robyn.
