Jacob Morrill, a 24-year-old man, has been arrested for allegedly killing his landlord by beating him with an ax and 'hiding his body under a tarp' according to True Crime Daily.
According to a press release, the Tiverton Police contacted the Portsmouth Police Department to do a welfare check on 50-year-old Xue Feng Wu who had left to check on a property in Portsmouth, RI, and had not returned.
The police spoke with Morrill who said Wu was no longer there. Two hours later Morill called Portsmouth Police to admit that he had "struck and killed Mr. Wu."

Morrill then met with the police to turn himself in.
When the police returned to the residence they found Wu's body "on a path near a wooded area" and it was "wrapped in a tarp and held down in place by a section of wire fencing and other objects in an area of brush."
The victim allegedly was killed from "apparent severe injuries to his head."
The police say the pair got into an argument in the garage and "Morrill struck him in the head with an ax" before he moved the body. WPRI reported that Wu was in the process of evicting his tenant and was set for a court hearing on the matter that very morning.
“We haven’t had an incident like this for a few years now, so it definitely is a shock to see that here in Portsmouth,” Police Chief Brian Peters said during a press briefing Tuesday (h/t Page Six).
Morrill was charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bail. He is set for a bail hearing to take place on June 6.
