"Young and the Restless:" Did Phyllis just miss out on becoming a better person?

Amy Christie

After what she's been through with her trial, Phyllis promised to make amends and to do all she could to get along with her kids while showing she's a very different person. But then, knowing she has to pay the insurance money makes her act against everything she promised her kids, Summer and Daniel.

While she did hesitate while giving Tucker McCall access to Billy's account and finances, in the end, she let him do what he wanted and walked away embarrassed as she met Billy downstairs.

Just a few days ago, she told Daniel she'd think about his job offer and then teamed up with Tucker. Phyllis said it would be the last time she ever did something like that and added it was strictly because she couldn't ever get the kind of money she needed to cover the insurance costs, but can she really be trusted?

How would Summer and Daniel take it if they found out? Their relationship with their mom is very shaky as it is, and they're all making an effort to still talk to each other, but if word of her association with Tucker got out, Phyllis might have trouble staying close to her kids.

Do you think it was worth taking that risk? Should Phyllis have agreed to start on the job that Daniel offered her and just kept working until she could get the money she needed, even if it would have taken several years to earn as much as she had to?
