A homeless family who lives in Ohio just got a fantastic surprise from a caring and kind customer. Ebony Johnson is employed at a Dunkin’ drive-thru. Suzanne Burke is a regular customer at the Cincinnati location, and they have been friends ever since they met.
When she noticed that her favorite employee was missing, Burke did her best to help her. And the results were wonderful. Getting a home for Christmas is a gift the family had only wished for but didn’t believe could come true.
What are the details?
Ebony Johnson didn’t come to work for several weeks, and her regular customer certainly noticed her absence. Suzanne Burke inquired more about the family, and she found out that Ebony and her loved ones had been evicted from their house, according to Sunnyskyz.
“When she went through this hardship, I wanted to see if I could help her,” Burke shared with the outlet.
The dedicated customer teamed up with nonprofit organizations and got a staging designer on the project. Together they gave Ebony the surprise of a lifetime. She got her very own furnished home to move in before Christmas comes.
“The Lord looked out for me. I kept praying and saying, ‘can I be at home before Christmas?’” Ebony said, very touched by the kind gesture.
Indeed, what better way to smile for Christmas than having a roof over your head and your whole family with you?
Every job is important, and, in this case, treating customers nicely and building a bond helped save a whole family’s holidays and bring out the good that stays in each one of us.
