ERCOT sends warning out to its customers

The scam trick happening on social media is about asking customers to text their private account numbers, promising that their power will be restored faster if they do it.

Don’t fall for it! As ERCOT has clarified, giving out information related to your account is not needed to get power back on. Unfortunately, we must wait until all households are restored to normal activities. In the meantime, don’t let scammers take advantage of you. You could end up losing a lot of money.

Stay warm and give fraudsters a miss! They’re on a rampage!
