DULUTH, GA — Filipino restaurants in greater Atlanta are hard to come by. But according to Yelp, there is one that stood out called Kuya's Food Express. It is located at the food court of ASSI Plaza International Food in Duluth. They serve authentic Filipino cuisines starting from Menudo to adobo.

“You want Filipino food? This is the closest place you can get when you live in the Northside of Georgia” said Julie T. on Yelp. “This food court is a hidden gem located in the Assi Plaza market”.

“Everything is prepared fresh, which is great, so expect a little bit of a wait,” said Gretchen S. on Yelp. “Everything was cooked perfectly and it was oh, so comforting!” she said. “The pinakbet, pancit, and lumpia, all winners!”

For the appetizers, they have lumpia and toks and babs. As the main dish, they have pansit bihon, pancit combo, adobong manok, Lechon kawali, and more. Try their combos like tapsilog, bangsilog, and longsilog. They also serve Filipino desserts including cassava cake and halo-halo.

“Kuya's "Halo Halo" was amazing. It wasn't very sweet and all the ingredients just tasted like homemade,” Julie said.

Find the restaurant at 1630 Pleasant Hill Rd ASSI Food Court Duluth, GA 30096. They operate daily from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Contact them at (678) 697-1098 or email kuyasfoodexpress@yahoo.com for more information. Follow their updates on their Facebook page @KuyasFoodExpress.

ASSI Plaza also has a few other Asian restaurants. You can find Manhong serving Chinese, The Bibimbab & BBQ serving Korean, and Bally Budaejjigae serving Asian fusions.
