HENRY COUNTY, GA- Henry County Schools has officially opened its Welcome Center located at 166 Holly Smith Drive in McDonough on Wednesday, July 14.

Previously, throughout the last session meeting in June, District officials reported to the board of education about the plan to set up the Welcome Center.

The Center is an outcome of the desires heard from a number of community members throughout stakeholder engagement events over the last 18 months, and this recent effort will assure a one-stop-shop approach for families to assure a seamless transition into the school district at any point before or during a school year.

“Our community has been incredible in their support of this latest offering from our district to the new families of Henry County and Henry County Schools. They have gone above and beyond to show a grand Henry County welcome to our newest members of the Henry County Schools family,” said Dr. April Madden, Chief Family and Student Support Services Officer.

Meanwhile, Superintendent, Mary Elizabeth Davis said that they wanted all families to feel a warm welcome upon joining their district. That center was designed to do just that.

Board Chair, Holly Cobb said that members of their extensive community were clear in the many conversations they had with them over the past 18 months plus, that they wanted a place to get support for the many processes as well as procedures needed to get started in their district. They felt that this latest endeavor fits as a part of their strategic plan, and they could not wait to greet more families with this critical service as Henry County continues to grow each year.
