ATLANTA, GA - Saint-Germain Bakery and Cafe, an Atlanta patisserie, has opened across from Westside Provisions District at the Interlock and Bellyard Hotel on Howell Mill Road.
The café is open every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It provides French pastries as well as grilled sandwiches, croque monsieurs, quiches, and soups. It is named after the Parisian area of Saint-Germain-des-Pres in the 6th arrondissement.
Saint-Germain at the Interlock aims to provide not only coffee, tea, and espresso, but also French wines and champagne by the glass. Classic French pastries, croissants, chouquettes, macarons, and chocolates are among the pâtisserie's specialties.
Its menu is continuing to evolve towards a full café menu with sandwiches, quiches, croisandwiches, soups and boards, such as charcuterie, cheese and seasonal tapas.
Mathieu Jourdan-Gassin and Heather Jourdan-Gassin, both French natives, worked at French and American cafes across Atlanta for many years until they're opening Saint-Germain Bakery in Ponce City Market in 2016.
On Peachtree Road, an identical bakery-café with street-side seating will open in late September at the upscale shopping complex Buckhead Village.
Saint-Germain Bakery and Cafe features the Bellyard Hotel's Drawbar cocktail bar and lounge, as well as the Interlock's Velvet Taco and mini-golf bar and restaurant, Puttshack. Holiday Bar, a self-serve beer and cider bar called Pour Taproom, and a second Cathy's Gourmet Ice Cream Sandwiches shop are all scheduled to launch this fall at the Interlock.
The shop will be open on Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Limited seating is available inside the bakery-café, with more cafe-style sitting available on the patio.
