ATHENS, GA — The 40 under 40 class of 2021 has been announced by the University of Georgia or UGA Alumni Association. The honor will be given on September 10 at the 11th annual 40 under 40 Awards Luncheon.

UGA graduates who receive this honor are those who have personal, professional, and/or philanthropic achievements in under the age of 40.

A United States Air Force commander David A. Dy, CEO and owner of King’s Pharmacy John Hyer, Major League Soccer communication director Angela Alfano, executive director of Catalyst Sports Inc. Eric Gray, and global senior vice president of talent development of XPO Logistic Inc. Willie Mazyck are some of the awardees.

“This year’s honorees highlight the transformational work UGA graduates are doing early in their careers,” said the executive director of alumni relations Meredith Gurley Johnson. “Among this year’s class are individuals who are solving some of the greatest challenges facing our country and the world. During a particularly challenging year, we are especially proud to call them members of the Bulldog family.”

These 40 people have been selected from over 400 nominations collected from February to April. The criteria for becoming a 40 under 40 nominee includes aspiring to uphold the principles manifested in the three Pillars of the Arch—wisdom, justice, and moderation, having made an impact in their professional and philanthropic endeavors, and demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a lifelong relationship with UGA.
