Parsley, a food and community platform for "cooks and eaters," announced the debut of its app-based service in Austin, as well as the appointment of industry veterans Mason Arnold as CEO and Sloan Foster as COO.
"We created Parsley with the intention of bringing cooks and eaters together, and we are thrilled to have Mason and Sloan leading the team," said Doug Guller, Parsley co-founder.
Customers may use the Parsley app to get home-cooked meals prepared by local aspiring home cooks for pickup or delivery right to their door. The app allows users to find meals based on their preferences and geographic area. After that, categories will be sorted by favorite home cooks and a ranking system.
Cooks will stay connected to their community by making announcements and sharing weekly menus. Eaters may follow their favorite cooks and create plans based on their own needs.
Arnold has joined Parsley as CEO and will be in charge of the Texas development.
Arnold, a serial entrepreneur with experience in fresh food, organics, and sustainability, launched CeCe's Veggie Co, which was just recognized as the third fastest growing company in the country on the Inc. 5000 list.
"I'm really excited about helping people connect with their neighbors and build community around food," says Arnold. "For me, it's not just about home-cooked meals, but rebuilding our relationships with those around us after some very challenging times."
Prior to Cece's, he established Greenling.com, Texas's first and biggest local/organic fresh food and grocery delivery service. Arnold received the United FreshMKT Achievement Award in 2018 for outstanding achievement and innovation in food, and the Austin Business Journal named him 'Eco Leader of the Year' in 2010.
Foster joins Parsley as COO and will be in charge of the company's market growth. Foster's most recent initiative was as CEO and co-founder of AutoThink, where she led the company to swiftly build a solution for the emerging pickup and drop-off market in Automotive.
