H.F. Galloway, author of the new thriller, Theatre of the Vampires grew up near the Okeefenokee swamp in Waycross, GA and spent most of his summers in the foothills of the N.C. mountains on his grandfather's farm.
He has worked in the Air Force as a fire protection specialist, a maintenance professional and cleaning swimming pools. Working the night shift at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta for ten years in maintenance, is where the Theatre of the Vampires story was born. Galloway now hopes to get more into the craft of movie making.
What inspired you to write your first book?
It was the only way to get the story out of my head all I wanted to do was make it stop.
What books have most influenced your life most?
Charles Dickens, Stephen King, Anne Rice. Shakespeare. I have read most of their stories or watched the movie.
Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.
Page Turner Press and Media. Without question they have gone way above what I had expected. I am lucky to have them on my side.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
I tweaked it for 20 years to get it just like I wanted I would not change anything.
Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
Yes, I did. Despite all of the nay Sayers doing what they could to get me to give up. I did it anyway and it felt great to not care what they thought. I found it to be very liberating and satisfying. Now I apply that lesson to my everyday world and I am the happier for it.
Do you have any advice for other writers?
Be true to your story and write it your way.
