Need to entertain the kids for a day? Visit the Lillian Bryant Park in Ocala! There you'll find three outdoor basketball courts, a playground, outdoor exercise equipment, walking trails, and a splash pad.

And don't forget the public restrooms and the massive parking lot with free parking.

I recently bought my three-year-old son here to meet friends, and we stayed for four hours.

I loved the climbing wall and drums!" Liam, age 3.

As usual, we first visited the playground. My three-year-old was drawn to the prominent structure on the right with a ramp leading to plastic drums and spinning maracas.

I sat on one of the red chairs nearby and watched my little one go to town on the drums and megaphone.

He was also a fan of the quadruple slide, multiple climbing ladders, and the double slide. Tykes also enjoy the short rock climbing wall, spinny steering wheel, and canopy-covered platform.

Next to the play structure is a giant spinning carousel along with an adult elliptical and another rotating device kids can hang off.

The Lillian Bryant playground also featuress four traditional swings, two bucket swings, and one old-school metal jungle gym.

In the playground's center, you'll find a toddler double slide and a seesaw.

My energetic kiddo gravitated towards the large, plastic basketball bucket, where kids can throw up a ball (luckily, we brought one) and watch as it comes back down through one of the holes.

He also LOVED the trolley-like zipline - but needed assistance getting on it.

Surrounding the playground and throughout the park are plenty of benches and picnic tables - many of which are in the shade. Near the playground, guests can rest under the pavilion that has four picnic tables underneath.

Beside the playground is a large field where you can play games, a baseball diamond, and a walking path that leads to Lily's Pad, a top-notch Ocala splash pad.

This splash pad boasts a large mushroom-shaped waterfall contraption and lots of sprinklers. Another top feature: The buckets that fill up with water and shower kids with water.

I'm a huge fan of the convenient seating at the splash pad. You can sit under a pavilion at a picnic table, a bench, or - my favorite - at one of the many Adirondack chairs.

Lillian Bryant Park also blew me away with its free wifi and abundance of trash and recycling cans onsite.
