One of the most highly populated cities in the United States is Los Angeles, California. With many people dream chasing dreams of becoming photographers, actors, actresses, artists, and many other creative professions, there is always a lot of hustle and bustle in daily life.

Still, people love to unwind on the weekends when they aren't working and enjoy taking things slower and easier. Luckily, during these times when everyone is still trying to stay socially distanced and safe, there are many outdoor activities that you can enjoy while staying away from others.

These places are highly popular, and they allow you to explore the city of Los Angeles, California. Fortunately, Los Angeles is known for their beautiful weather and sunshine, as is much of the state of California. So, you will be able to enjoy your outdoor activities with beautiful, warm weather and a bright golden sunshine.

The following are three popular activities that people enjoy doing outdoors in Los Angeles, California. They are the perfect activities to do right now, since the spring and summer months are rolling in. Let's dive right into the article, and take a look at 3 popular activities you can do in the sunshine state of California, and more specifically, the city of Los Angeles.

1. Check out Griffith Park.

Griffith Park is a famous Los Angeles attraction with so many different parts of the trail to explore. It is absolutely huge with over 4000 acres of land to explore, which will allow you to get a nice workout in while staying safely away from others.

It is stated that:

"Everybody has to do this in Los Angeles (including, yes, lots and lots of tourists). But there’s a reason for that: It’s awesome. Spanning an impressive 4,210 acres, it’s easy to get lost in L.A.’s largest public green space."

If you have a free weekend and some family members to head to Griffith Park with, it is the perfect weekend activity to enjoy with them. Take in the fresh air, the breathtaking views, and just enjoy the time you have to spend with the ones you love in the great outdoors. It's a great budget friendly activity that doesn't take too much planning.

2. Head to the Venice Canals.

The Venice canals offer a lovely stroll with beautiful views of bridges, water, and architecturally gorgeous houses. This area is one that can be beautiful to walk through while staying outside and socially distancing from others.

The Venice Canals are described as follows:

"the Venice Canals offer a completely different side of the famed beachfront neighborhood. Take a stroll through these three canal-lined blocks—hence the name, Venice—and you’ll discover an idyllic scene: arching pedestrian bridges, charming beach houses, bunches of ducklings and the occasional paddle boarding bulldog."

If you enjoy slow, easy, and peaceful strolls as well as looking at beautiful homes, this might be the perfect little place to get away to and enjoy for a few hours on the weekend. Plus, if you love animals, you might catch a cute glimpse of ducklings waddling around in a little line or pack.

3. Exercise at Runyon Canyon Park.

Runyon Canyon Park is the perfect place to exercise in a number of ways, such as running, hiking, or walking. It features beautiful views, scenic greenery, expansive land, and it is the perfect place to socially distance while getting an incredible workout in.

Runyon Canyon Park:

"was created in 1984 near Mulholland on a 160-acre land to be managed by the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks...[it is] one of the best places in L.A.to hike, run or get in some exercise while enjoying a scenic view. The trails in the park run through Clouds Rest, Inspiration Point and other areas where you can get a good look at the beauty of LA. What’s more? You may even see a star on your way."

If you enjoy a good weekend hike or run through trails that span many acres, with a nice view of Los Angeles, Runyon Canyon Park should be on your list of outdoor places to visit. You will likely not be dissapointed.

Final Thoughts

While Los Angeles is highly populated and many areas can be crowded at times, there are still activities you can do outside to avoid those huge crowds, socially distance from others, and keep yourself, your roommates, and your family members as safe as possible.

Take a trip to a park, or another nature scene that has ample space for you to roam in Los Angeles, and you will be able to stay away from others, and truly enjoy the great outdoors.

Whether you prefer to walk, run, hike, bike, or simply sit and enjoy the views, there is something to offer everyone at the parks and other outdoor destinations of Los Angeles.
