Alpharetta HS FBLA Hosts First 2021-22 Meeting

Alpharetta HS FBLA

Alpharetta High School recently hosted its first FBLA meeting of the 2021-2022 school year, and its first in-person meeting in nearly one-and-a-half years. The meeting was a massive success with over 175 members in attendance.

The Future Business Leaders of America organization aims to support students as they transition into business environments. FBLA organizes nationwide events to provide students with opportunities to excel in professional settings while encouraging regular meetings at local chapters to ensure that members are up-to-date with upcoming events.

By 7:50 a.m., all the attendees were seated in the AHS Auditorium. The Officer Team members kicked off the meeting by introducing themselves and the organization.

Among the presenters at this introductory meeting was guest speaker Anvitha Suram, the State Secretary of Georgia FBLA. She gave the members an insight as to how FBLA has positively impacted her life, and she inspired the members to step out of their comfort zone and take advantage of the FBLA opportunities that they are being given.

Mr. Hatcher, AHS FBLA’s primary advisor, brought attention to upcoming FBLA events, including future conferences, rallies, and socials as well as the wide variety of competitive events that the FBLA Leadership Conferences have to offer. AHS FBLA is also a nine-year State Sweepstakes Champion in competitive events, and they hope to sustain their streak for years to come.

One of the pillars of FBLA is service, and to uphold the value of this pillar, AHS FBLA provides multiple opportunities for members to volunteer, whether it be with teachers at AHS, or with non-profit organizations.
