Bubba's 33 Takes Florida
It's impressive how fast the 7,500 square foot building went up on 2580 S Faulkenburg Road in Brandon, Florida. This location is the 36th Bubba's 33 in the US to open since 2013.
The successful expansion of Bubba's 33 into Florida is due to the hard work of Jeff Dean, Managing Partner, and his uber-talented wife and Marketing Manager, Crista Dean.
The dynamic duo met in New England working in the restaurant industry over 20 years ago. After moving all over the country opening successful restaurants they decided to make Florida their home. They plan to launch several Florida Bubba's 33 locations in the coming years.
All three Florida locations; Wesley Chapel, Pensacola, and now Brandon were built in less than 120 days. If you see a red and blue 'coming soon' sign in the vicinity of a Texas Roadhouse, blink and a huge Bubba's 33 restaurant will appear!
Texas Roadhouse Roots
Bubba's 33 was created by Kent Davis, the late CEO and founder of Texas Roadhouse. The sister company's concept would not be a steak and potatoes restaurant, but a family-friendly sports restaurant that's hospitality-centered. He wanted to see family, friends, and sports teams gathering to enjoy a lively atmosphere without sacrificing quality food. Quality is the difference between Bubba's 33 and its competition.
Kent gave the restaurant his nickname, Bubba, and the number 33, which signifies the end of prohibition in 1933. The number 33 also represents the many sports greats who wore the number on their jersey.
The vibe is certainly different in Bubba's 33. It's a modern sports restaurant with wall-to-wall televisions. In addition to the TV's the walls are lined with sports jerseys, neons, and local flair.
Locally Focused Chain
Bubba's 33 is different from Texas Roadhouse in that each restaurant focuses on the community it resides in. Prior to opening the Brandon location, Crista hosted dining events only open to local first responders, firefighters, and police to train Bubba's 33 Brandon's 200 team members.
"We are able to give back to the community by supporting local schools and sports teams," says Crista Dean. "We also give to charities."
Bubba's 33 Brandon also hosted an invitation-only event to raise money for the V-foundation.
"In honor of Dick Vitale's recent cancer diagnosis, we are supporting the V Foundation," says Jeff Dean. "Over the past eight years, the organization has awarded more than $250 million in cancer research grants nationwide and has grown to become one of the premier supporters of cutting-edge cancer research. We're proud to support this amazing cause."
The garage bar also features several local craft beers.
The Menu & Venue
In addition to offering 40 beers including 18 beers on tap, Bubba's 33 offers margaritas, cocktails and wine. The garage bar is a fully stocked bar, so you can order your favorite drink!
Yes, you can order a steak entree at Bubba's 33, but the menu is so diverse.
The kitchen serves up a made-from-scratch menu that includes hand-stretched stone-baked pizza, fresh-ground beef burgers, fresh wings, pasta entrees, salads, sandwiches, and much more.
The restaurant seats about 300 guests. It also includes a covered patio with 70 seats for outdoor dining.
Bubba's 33 features a family dining section and an authentic garage bar section with working garage doors. No matter which dining experience you choose, you're getting a front-row seat to your sports game or music videos on one of the giant HDTV's.
Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting
The public is invited to attend Bubba's 33 ribbon-cutting at 10:45 AM on November 1, 2021. The official Grand Opening is at 11:00 AM.
