Local Artist, Jay Camaro, a Saint Petersburg, Florida native is currently navigating American Idol Season 19 Hollywood week after receiving his Golden Ticket.
On the premiere episode of ABC's American Idol season 4 (19 seasons total) local pop artist Jay Camaro got his Golden Ticket and was on his way to Hollywood. Get to know this Tampa Bay star as he navigates Hollywood week in upcoming episodes.

Jay Camaro, a 22-Year-old, Gibbs High School graduate hailing from St. Pete is a local pop artist with many talents. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, drawing, and battle rapping. Jay is not new to the stage. He started singing when he was seven and became a professional pop artist at age 15.
Locally, Jay recently sang at the First Night St Pete 2021 New Year’s Eve celebration with his background dancers Kali Kali Dance Company at Vinoy North Straub Park in front of 1000 guests. Camaro stated that performing his 1-hour set in front of his hometown crowd was amazing. Due to COVID-19 First Night St Pete 2021 also had a virtual audience in attendance.

Up and Coming Model
In addition to singing, Jay started modeling two years ago when he was 20 years old. He was featured in the March 2019 music issue of THE LYFE magazine and did work for Calvin Klein at the 2019 Florida Fashion Week.
As a multi-talented artist, Jay hopes to continue modeling with Benz Talent while working on his singing career.

Road to Hollywood
Jay Camaro’s road to Hollywood started with auditions on other nationally televised talent competitions, so he’s not a stranger to getting a “yes” to callbacks. In 2016 he auditioned for “The Voice” in and “America’s Got Talent.” Although he didn’t move forward on those shows, he kept pressing on in his career.
Jay’s stage presence allowed him to be the opening act for SZA and Khalid at the 2018 South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival. These events all lead to his initial zoom audition with American Idol where he was invited to get in front of the judges.
During Jay’s live audition American Idol celebrity judges, Lionel Ritchie, Katie Perry, Luke Bryan were all impressed as Jay performed his rendition of “Stand Up” by Cynthia Erivo and “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman. Both songs are uplifting and powerful. Jay left the studio with the coveted golden ticket to Hollywood in hand.
Jay is embracing this golden opportunity. So far he has learned so much about himself as a passionate artist while in Hollywood. Part of Jay’s future goal is to tour and lift hearts around the world.
