AVONDALE, AZ — The City of Avondale is holding a series of free COVID-19 vaccination events. The events will be at Civic Center Library at 11350 W. Civic Center Dr every Monday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

This event is a result of the City of Avondale's partnership with the Maricopa County Department of Public Health. The vaccination will be eligible for everyone, including those who are not Avondale's residents. The vaccines offered are Pfizer for a minimum age of 12 years old, and Johnson & Johnson for a minimum age of 18 years old. Here is the complete schedule for the first and second doses.

1. July 19 for the first dose and August 9 for the second dose.

2. July 26 for the first dose and August 16 for the second dose.

3. August 2 for the first dose and August 23 for the second dose.

4. August 9 for the first dose and August 30 for the second dose.

A call center number will be informed for the second dose in the vaccination card for the following dates, including August 16, 23, and 30.

This vaccination event aims to reach the herd immunity goal of 70% of the vaccinated population. The City of Avondale is currently reaching 34.9% of the vaccine-eligible groups. With vaccination, the city engages its residents to take their part to protect each other.

If you are uncomfortable with group gatherings, there are also free vaccination opportunities. Check other vaccination locations here.
