Ohio is home to many different natural environments and has a few public stops such as the Cuyahoga Valley national parks and Shawnee State Forest. These environments are home to a wide variety of creatures and creepy crawlies locally.

Here is the most dangerous animal in Ohio.

1. Northern Copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix)

The Northern Copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix) is generally over Ohio's rocky, forested hillsides and wetlands. Perhaps the most feared snake in the entire Midwest.

Northern Copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix) usually appears in dark chestnut, blotch pattern and about 1 meter in length.

According to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), this snake is responsible for most poisonous snake bites, and death is rare.
