Regional Sports Update for Otero County regional high school interscholastic athletic. Below are the results in Golf, Softball, baseball and updates on tennis delays.

In Golf competition the Alamogordo Girls finish 6th and the Boys finish 9th at the Leroy Gooch Invitational at Alto Lakes GC in Ruidoso.The  Mescalero Apache Boys finished 14th.

In baseball action

Santa Rosa High School defeated the Tularosa Boys 4-2. The Wildcats drop to 4-7 and next play at Estancia on Saturday.

Organ Mountain High School defeated the Alamogordo High Tiger Boys 2-1. The Tigers drop to 2-13 and are 0-4 in district . They next host Organ Mountain on Thursday with a doubleheader.

Softball

The Alamogordo Tiger girls defeated Organ Mountain High Girls 3 to 2.  The Lady Tigers improved their record to 8 and 7. The Tiger Girls are now 1 and 3 in the district. They next play at Organ Mountain on Thursday also in a doubleheader.

The Tularosa High School Girls swept Dexter High School winning 11 to 1 in Game 1 and 14 to 0 in Game 2.  The Lady Cats improve to 6 and 7 and they begin district on Tuesday, hosting Lordsburg High School. 

In Tennis there was a Varsity Schedule Change due to wind on Tuesday For Alamogordo Tennis Dual vs Organ Mountain moved from April 4th to April 6th Fir Alamogordo Golf  Tuesday at Leroy Gooch Invitational was cancelled.

Smelling Cannabis Vehicle Searches US Laws Mixed Bag

For decades, police officers have used motor vehicle stops and searches, which relied on officers saying they could smell marijuana, as part of their drug interdiction efforts. Because marijuana was illegal, the smell of it gave officers the probable cause they needed to justify the search. But now that marijuana is legal in 16 states and Washington, D.C., and medical marijuana is legal in 36 states plus D.C., the odor of marijuana no longer provides ironclad probable cause, because smoking it in those states is not necessarily criminal.
