These Hidden Gems between Reno & California are a MUST to see!
These Hidden Gems are a must if you are traveling from Reno Nevada and headed to California's West Coast, just north of San Francisco! We had a 24hr layover in Reno Nevada, and ended up staying at the Element Reno Experience, which we highly recommend! The very next morning we started heading west towards California, and accidentally found one of the coolest rest areas nearest Donner Pass. The exact name (if typed in Google Maps) is Donner Pass Rest Area Westbound. Just back behind the rest rooms, there is this hiking path into the trees that opens up to what looks like an old eruption that has now turned to stone, that stretches for miles. A few hours later we finally arrived just North of San Francisco California, at the Arched Rock Vista Point in Bodega Bay CA & discovered yet another hidden gem that is incredibly easy to miss!
