Bounce, a travel-related website, rated Key West as the seventh-best place in the world to glimpse a sunset. Key West is one of eight places in the United States to make the list of 46 global locations. And, it's the only place in Florida to make the cut. Key West is Florida's southernmost point, only 90 miles north of Cuba. Known for its beach bars, colorful houses, it is a stop that is accessible from the mainland through a 113-mile Overseas Highway.
According to their findings, Key West sunsets have been rated as the best in over six articles, plus over 46,000 photos on Instagram feature sunsets or sunrises taken in Key West. In addition, the city got a "sunset score" of 5.38.
Santorini, Greece, was ranked the best place to watch a sunset, according to the study. It is "thought by many to be the most beautiful of the country's many small islands, known for its towering cliffs and whitewashed houses on the shore of the Aegean Sea." Bali in Indonesia and Hawaii took second and third place, respectively,
According to a study, people from all around the world travel to these exact cities just purely to catch a glimpse of a sunset for less than 10 minutes. Using data collected from Instagram, articles, and blogs, they compiled 46 cities in order of their sunset-worthiness. They were based on three factors: how many times people mentioned each destination; the number of Instagram posts for each destination that used the hashtag sunrise or sunset; and artificial brightness using the Light Pollution Map.
