The 25th Anniversary of the Light Up the Holidays Parade & Festival will take place in downtown Joliet on Friday, November 24th from 10 AM to 7 PM CST.

The festivities will kick off at 10 AM with the North Pole Christmas Market opening up at the Joliet Renaissance Center (214 N. Ottawa Street). All types of vendors will be selling Christmas crafts, food, and drinks until 5 PM.

From 10 AM to 3 PM, send your children over to the Joliet Area Historical Museum (204 N. Ottawa Street) to take a picture with Santa Claus.

The North Pole Park will open up in the Chicago Street parking area across the street from the Rialto Square Theatre. The area will include an artificial skating rink along with kiddie rides.

You will have the opportunity to take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage from 2 PM to 5 PM from the Chicago Street parking area. Be advised that you may want to protect yourself if you see any PETA activists around.

Stick around for the Christmas tree lighting at 5:15 PM near the Chicago Street Fountain and the Light up the Holidays parade down Chicago Street at 5:30 PM. The parade usually lasts until 7 PM.

Happy Holidays to all!
