Winter is coming! Be prepared to deal with winter and to deal with the after-effects of a possible federal government shutdown at the Harvey Resource Fair on Tuesday, September 26th from 10 AM to 2 PM CST at Harvey IDES Office located at 16845 South Halsted Street (Illinois Route 1).

This resource fair is free of charge for anyone who is 50 years of age and older. Walk-ins are welcome for this event.

Representatives from CEDA Energy Services, South Suburban Housing Center, Illinois Action for Children, and WIOA will be on site in order to answer all of your questions in regards to finishing the rest of this year on a high note.

You will be able to receive opportunities for assistance so that you will not be so overwhelmed with real-life circumstances that could put you under.

Migrants have their first taste of the freezing cold in Chicago

Some of the migrants in Chicago that arrived from Central America, South America, and Mexico are feeling the deep freeze tonight with temperatures in the teens right now. They are sleeping outside tonight because an empty lot at 38th and California was supposed to have been ready before winter arrived. However, the gravel just arrived on the site last week in order to build a temporary shelter center for the migrants.

I saw this video of a Thanksgiving dinner cooking hack that allows for you to cook your turkey and all of the fixings all in one pan. The person cooking in the video puts the turkey in the middle of the pan and then puts all of the ingredients for the fixings around the turkey. The fixings are sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, creamed corn, stuffing placed inside of the turkey, and mashed potatoes.
